The Manene Cultural Trust, based in Nairobi, Kenya, aims to promote peace and social cohesion. Over time it is clear that traditional cultural practices help build peace and increase social cohesion. Memory through history is a tool for social cohesion. They champion intergenerational and cross-cultural dialogue by honoring people’s wisdom, relationships, health, good values and cultural practices that enhance peaceful co-existence. The Manene Cultural Trust hosts dialogues on social issues, create cultural leadership circles for youth, women, and men, and host workshops on weaving, beading, and pottery with students in learning institutions to enhance cross-cultural sharing of knowledge.
