The Loyola Ayacucho Center promotes citizen participation, inclusion, and peace among the Ayacucho community in the southern Sierra region of Peru. Created in 2004 in the city of Huamanga, the Center was founded on the recommendations of the report of the country’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
To support the psychosocial needs of and demands for truth, justice, peace, and reparations in the community, the Center created a PeaceBuilders program and the Schools of Forgiveness and Reconciliation (ESPERE). Other activities include a Route of Memory project, both in-person and online.
