Indiana Historical Society (USA)

Since 1830, the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) has connected people to the past by collecting, preserving, and sharing the state’s history. IHS maintains a research library and archives; presents a unique series of interactive exhibits; provides support for local historical organizations; publishes books; creates teacher resources; hosts art exhibits and theater performances; and develops programs to help people consider current issues in the context of history. The Society’s commitment to providing a platform for dialogue on social issues prompted two new collecting initiatives focusing on Covid-19 and Social Justice which, in 2020, resulted in two new major collections totaling over 900 submissions.
