The International Museum for Democracy, or the Museo Internacional para la Democracia, is located in Rosario, Argentina. The museum opened in 2017 and is a private initiative that aims to create a plural and inclusive space that encourages reflection to promote freedom of expression, respect for others, debate on different ideas and unrestricted respect for human rights. Starting from the principle that there is no democracy without respect and legitimate human rights, the main objectives of the Museum are to denounce and stop contemporary clavery; promote cultures of peace; contribute to the awareness and the rejection of dictatorships; promote and host initiatives to combat discrimination, racism and marginalization; and support initiatives to stop violence and inequality against women.
