Organisation Africaine du Développement Durable et de l’Environnement – African Organization for Sustainable Development and the Environment – (OADDE) is a non-governmental organization established in 2014 in Guinea. OADDE’s main objectives include the promotion of justice for all people living in Guinea, the protection and preservation of the environment, the development of equal opportunities for men and women, good governance, promotion of human rights, and the support of memory initiatives and transitional justice.
Between 2016 and 2019, OADDE carried out several transitional justice projects which emphasized the need to overcome hate and mistrust within Guinea. To succeed in their projects, OADDE worked with young adults to ensure a better understanding of what is a good national reconciliation for Guineans.
Due to their outstanding work, OADDE has become one of the most prominent NGOs in Guinea in terms of human rights and transitional justice. OADDE is recognized for its communal work involving the youth, and children, in transitional justice processes. By involving young adults, the organization wants to inspire and impact the rest of the Guinean society to become active members of society and key actors in transitional justice processes.
