The Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum is an underground bunker that was meant to house 535 Canadian government officials and military officers in the event of a nuclear war. As Canada’s Cold War Museum, the Diefenbunker is committed to “think global, act local” programming about peace, conflict, and diplomacy. The Museum provides conflict resolution training, lectures, special events, an artist in residence program, and temporary exhibitions. The 100,000 square foot, nuclear bunker acts as an amazing piece of engagement to help a new generation learn the lessons of the Cold War.
